Homelessness on the increase report HSBC

It appears to be official according to an HSBC report which has just been released highlighting what most of us suspected, that homelessness is on the increase in the UK.

The number of local councils’ “acceptances” of homeless households reached a staggering 12,830 during the final quarter of 2011 this shows a concerning 27% increase since the period during which the current government came to power.

Overcrowding is becoming an issue, according to the report – with more families squeezed into ever smaller spaces. The report, according to property buyers in the UK, for the first time, claims that the number of households living in overcrowded conditions continues to rise, from 630,000 in 2009-10 to 655,000 in 2010-11.
